RuneScape: Polypore Staff is Deadly as Beast!!
You must have known RuneScape right? If yes, you must have heard about the mighty Polypore Staff! If not, then let me give you a short explanation. RuneScape is the world’s most popular free Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) according to Guinness World Records. This game allows player to freely customize their character. Different from other MMORPG, RuneScape doesn’t use the “job” system, but it uses the skills you choose to level up as the base of your character’s fighting style. So, you are not limited to one style of battle, you can combine all of the aspects of battle to your character. So you can make like, an Archer with deadly magic or a magician with melee capabilities that will make you chill to the bone!
Nevertheless, back to topic. If you choose magic as your character’s main style, then you might as well love this weapon, Polypore Staff. It was released on the 28th of November 2011 in an update along with the Polypore Dungeon. Do you know why it is a badass weapon? Because it inflicts 672 damages on a Slayer task in Kuradal’s Dungeon! Then, Polypore Staff is the highest-hitting magic-based weapon in the game! (not mentioning special attacks of course). And Polypore Staff also has the third highest prayer bonus of staff in the game, which is at +5. It is very flexible as every spellbook can be used with this staff in a low price, and it makes the staff an ass-kicking equipment for mages.
So can we get Polypore Staff easily? No, of course not! Three thousands polypore spores are needed to construct this magical staff. Those 3000 polypore spores then must be grew on a polypore stick and we need 15000 fire runes to imbue it with power. Because of that, you will need to be at level 80 on Farming to make it possible. It also requires 80 magic levels to wield it (80 melee levels was also required, but since it was impossible to melee with this weapon, it was removed along with melee attack bonuses after an update on December 6th, 2011). Not so easy, yeah?
You can get polypore spores from slayer tasks, and as I said earlier, it only can be used to recharge the staff at Farming level of 80 and it makes it free or costs very little to use it to train mage on slayers. At the game’s Grand Exchange currency, one charge of Polypore Staff costs 347 coins. But if you are too lazy to look for the polypore spores and can’t (or won’t) afford 327 Grand Exchange coins to charge the Polypore Staff, then the best way is to buy polypore spores with Grand Exchange coins (No freebies guys :B). But it costs much cheaper than directly charging it, which is around 150 coins.
Other factor that makes Polypore Staff a weapon of mass destruction (so much for being hyperbolic freak lol), is that, despite being a magic weapon, it can be used as a ranged style or melee style weapon when battling either of the Dagannoth Mothers, so the attack is considered melee.
Hey mages of RuneScape!! Now you know how badass the Polypore Staff is! You should try getting your (character’s) hands on it!
