Orcs Must Die 2 Release Date and Spoilers

Robot Entertainment already announced the release date for Ocs Must Die 2. The game is out on July 30.

The big selling point of Orcs Must Die 2 is the introduction of the two-person cooperative play, while the rest of the updates is more to revolve around delivering more of almost everything. Moreover, the Orcs Must Die 2 upgrade system has been revamped. While that might not look that much, but  it's surely enough to satisfy player's wish list.

Beyond that, you also can expect the usual trappings for a video game sequel. Orcs Must Die 2 includes the same great gameplay (albeit tweaked in a few small ways), with it along a reworked upgrade system, and an all-new campaign.

Returning protagonist the War Mage is joined by the Sorceress this time, which means two player co-op is go, and those who own the original game will unlock some mysterious bonus content.

Orcs Must Die 2 New Features

New Campaign – Orcs Must Die! 2 features a full campaign that you can play with a friend in co-op or single-player. You can Choose to play the campaign as the War Mage, play as the more nuanced Sorceress, a headstrong hero who charges into the danger of the battle or a new hero who keeps enemies at a distance with mind-control and magic.

More Enemies – An army of cool new creatures is set to pour through the rifts, and they have brought along with them, all of your favorite trap-fodder from the original Orcs Must Die!

More Defenses – Orcs Must Die! 2 has an enormous armory of classic and new defenses, including an all new assortment of magical trinkets. You can use your new spellbook to buy defenses and upgrades the way you want it to be, you can build up your arsenal based on how you play the game.

New Upgrade System – The skull system designed has been completely changed into new design. You will always earn skulls for replaying levels, and the skulls can be spent on multiple persistent upgrades for each of your defenses.

What can you tell us about some of the new traps and items in the sequel?

Again, we're bringing back everything from the original and adding to the arsenal. There are a handful of new spells and physical traps in the game, as well as a few character-specific traps. For example, only the Sorceress can use the Acid Sprayer wall trap or the Ice Vent floor trap. There is also a new trinket system which features several new ways to augment your character's abilities.

What other new features can we expect to see in Orcs Must Die 2?

Obviously Co-Op is the biggest addition. Beyond that, we've significantly expanded the spellbook. There are more traps than before, and for each trap we're now giving you several upgrade options. The first game required about 250 skulls to upgrade every trap one time - the sequel will require over 1700 skulls to upgrade every single trap completely. It's a much larger, much more personalized spellbook than before. There are a few more exciting elements that we haven't quite talked about yet, but we'll be revealing more as we get closer to the release of the game.
