To open Alternate Outfit in Mortal Kombat 9, players need to obtain a certain type of Krypt chest. The benefits of unlocking the Alternate Outfit is surely to gives alternate costume for each Mortal Kombat 9 characters. Some of move set such as fatalities also sometimes changed based on the costume that the character wore. For example, there are only two normal fatalities for Scorpion in Mortal Kombat 9, which are nether Gates and Split Decision. However, if you use the Scorpion’s alternate costume, you will be able to perform another fatality called “Toasty!”. Besides using alternate outfit, some of the characters are also able to perform different move or fatality only when they wear their classic costumes. An example for this case is the Reptile, which actually only able to perform two kinds of fatalities, which called Acid Yak and Weight Loss. But after players uses Reptile’s classic costumes, Reptile will be able to perform his classic fatality called Tasty Meal.

Unfortunately, there is no ways to get any Klassic Kostumes (Classic Costumes) for the characters normally, which also enable them to perform different move and fatality. It is because the Klassic Kostumes for Mortal Kombat 9 characters are sold separately or given as pre-order bonus. Or, you can also purchase the Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition that already includes all the DLC that ever release for Mortal Kombat 9, including Klassic Kostumes.
