Uncharted: Golden Abyss

While Naughty Dog concocted the beautiful Uncharted 3: The illusion of Drake, Sony Computer Entertainment America's Bend Studio preparing for his part Uncharted: Golden Abyss, the first episode of the series laptop. Intended for the new PS Vita which must be the spearhead, the game finally arrives with a sacred pressure on yourself.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss is in the palm of the hand. The thing might seem ambitious, but it was necessary to prove to us that since the launching of the PS Vita that it will be well able to fulfill its function as a PlayStation 3 pocket without too many concessions. It was the most technical challenge for teams of Sony Computer Entertainment America's, which have already proven themselves on Syphon Filter or Resistance Retribution. And the first few minutes of play, you can push a sigh of relief: Uncharted: Golden Abyss certainly feels like its PlayStation 3 counterparts, and not a PS2 game smooth as can be the case for some second-rate productions. The technical capabilities of the PS Vita are a credit to the precious license with Sony accurate graphics and scenery rich in detail. The character modeling is good, their animations also. Some teething problems remain (aliasing, frame rate sometimes insufficient), but we feel that the console can achieve great things with modern effects. Even if everything is not perfect yet, to achieve this unprecedented level of achievement on a mobile support is a first great promise for the future.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss

The other thing that is reassuring for the content offered is the title. Here we are before an actual episode of Uncharted, not a game ended badly and quickly shipped to stick to the roadmap of the PS Vita (follow my eyes). Syndrome "game light" laptop has therefore no need to be with Uncharted: Golden Abyss which offers content and therefore a rising crescendo action. The multi is not there, but there are no fewer than thirty-four chapters devour in one go for a big ten hours of play, or even more for those who take the time to search all optional bonus. There are some new characters rather successful we will learn about the past of the hero, the script is in front of the first game on PS3. So, the immersion soon to take over and superhuman stunts Drake find meaning. As always the game tells an interactive story first, and it shows in both the quality of many cinematic sequences in the excellent dubbing of actors dealing with American voices.

The gameplay of Uncharted: Golden Abyss is faithful to the roots of the series. Perhaps a bit too much for those who have already completed episodes PS3, but we shall return later. The game is beautiful, however adapted to the ergonomics of the PS Vita to demonstrate its full capabilities. The touch screen is used for so many QTE very common: in the fighting to regain his balance, to cut vines with a machete. The numerous puzzles to solve will also use your finger whether it is clean or dusty objects to reconstruct torn documents. Even the back of the console screen is used to zoom, or rotate objects, and the gyroscope is used from time to time to keep his balance, but also to correct its aim in addition to the analog stick. There is even a mystery where the photo sensor of the PS Vita is called as reinforcements. As you can see, much like the output of the DS, the touch is really all over this episode to show us what the Vita PS can do. The thing may seem difficult to refractory especially that some strings are reused over and over again, but finally everything works quite well in practice of Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
