Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 Reviews

After it first chance to set the gamers off their couches and break a sweat last year with Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, Ubisoft has come with a bigger and better experience to work out. Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 has arrived and offers new experiences in November 2011.

Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 offers a virtual gym with several activities and routines as well as in the first title in the series Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, but likely will be appealing to a larger gaming audience. Thanks to a new dose of structured workouts and fitness plan that will keep players on track with their workout routines. Here, the player also has the chance to set their own workout plan based on their level, motivation and goals. When the player sets his goal, the game selects several activities and exercises at various levels and marks them with a flag.

Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 surely expands its contents from its earlier title. Exercises or routine that target specific areas of the body, several workouts session, dance classes with backdrops and instructors and shape center have been added to satisfy and entertain its audience. The player can choose some routines such as Boot Camp, Latin Dance, Hip-Hop, Kick Boxing, Bollywood and more. Or go on virtual runs through Paris, London, and New York. Some improvements also go to the motivation and feedback on form and rhythm during workouts session. The interfaces get some improvement too with the existing mechanics on some studio and the game’s menu is more user-friendly.

A significant improvement to both interfaces and contents surely become a plus point, but still there are some issues remain. The need of adequate preparation for the workout to avoid injury that is the utmost important is not stressed. Meanwhile, time spent navigating the menu during the short length workout session is likely kill the momentum absolutely needed for successful workouts. And the decision of specific weight and scaling with progression on weight training has left the player in confusion.

With its greatest strength and flaw, Fitness Evolved is trying to replace well-made fitness video, personal trainer, or casual trip to the gym. While well-made fitness video and personal trainer force the player to do exactly what they are told in order to get into shape, Fitness Evolved 2012 allows the players to choose any exercises and routine you like. It may seem really fun and good, but it often means that the player will choose the exercises and routines they like and avoid what they hate most. As the result their workouts and exercises will less effective. But in the other hand, it is a simply good way to make the players do exercises and break sweats.

Lastly, Ubisoft has done a great job in its Fitness Evolved 2012 with its improvement from the earlier one. Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 simply managed to come up with a motivation and a great way for the players to get moving and exercises. This game is by far the best fitness game available on any console and I have tried them all. This is a major step up from the previous version of the game. I would advise that they work on the metrics as far as measuring calories burned and being able to take weight, bmi, fat measurements and to expand the "Run the World" feature. The Run the World feature is probably the best new addition to this game and can truly help you burn a lot of calories quickly without ever getting bored. If you're a traveler like me, you'll really appreciate the ability to take in touring actual virtual tours through major cities. Right now they only have New York and London, but you can see the obvious potential of this portion of the game. It would be great to see cities like Johannesberg, Cape Town, Rio de Janiero, Rome, etc. Overall, I'm giving this game five stars based on the improvements from the last version and the numerous fitness options it offers. The bottom line is, fitness is about consistency and I really can't see someone getting bored of playing this game if they keep offering add-ons as they did with the last version.

There are already comprehensive reviews on this product on Amazon and I refrain from repeating what has already been said. I will only add that I agree with all the positive reviews and it exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. If you are looking for a fun and encouraging way to exercise and if you have Xbox 360 with Kinect, look no further, just buy this game.

This is my first workout game. I'm a regular exerciser, hockey player and gym member. I was a little skeptical about the game, but thought it could not hurt to try and might be nice for at home when no time to go to gym. It actually far surpassed my expectations. It's a lot of fun, the motion tracking is very good, I blame my lack of cordination for most of the failures to keep in sync. It's perfect for getting in a quick 20 minutes before going to work. The boot camp training mood is very hard. It kicked my ass. The big test will be my wife trying it out tonight. I think she will love it, especially the yogo and zen workouts.

I hope Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 reviews can be your reference before you decide to buy this game.
