GoldFish the Mystery Item In Team Fortress 2

Yesterday either the Team Fortress 2 item team at valve were completely lost their minds or they are doing something sneaky, because they added six new items that don't appear in the catalog. And those items are :

pocket lint

a GoldFish

a cheese wheel

a banana peel

a barn plank

a secret diary

and a broken capacitor

There was a time when Valve would just inform you about the detail that was in their updates, but nowadays the Team Fortress 2 developers have taken to sneaking information out in bits for the fans to reassemble - Well it's more fun that way. The latest Team Fortress 2 update patch released with no patch notes and started depositing strange items into player's backpacks. Well, they're building up to something.

We are not really sure about the use of those items listed in the updates, but obviously it must has something to do with team fortres 2 since it is in the game right ?. Well many players are questioning the use of the items and what is it for, is it craftable ? items like bananas, GoldFish or pocket lint, is it just another useless items that is similar like junk or just a collection of garbage that makes team fortress players confused and wonder

Goldfish, Pocket lint and Other Mysterious Items are meant to be crafted ?

While all the items like GoldFish, pocket lint and cheese wheel are mysterious, but the least mysterious of all is the "Damaged Capacitor". It's feeding into the current TF2 community's "the next update is a robot update" obsession that Valve have planted: not only is it a bit of technology, but it has "MVM" scratched off at the side. It also has numbers on its side: "6.22V1500". June 22nd? That's this Friday, the perfect time to get people playing their game over the weekend. It's description reads: "How did it get damaged? Who damaged it? What is a capacitor? Better get your tickets ready, because the mystery train is leaving the station. Or did it already leave? Another mystery!"

The rest of the items include GoldFish, Pocket Lint, Cheese Wheel, Banana Peel, Barn Door Plank, and a Secret Diary. None of them have any obvious meaning attatched. The Secret Diary's reads: "Unlike other games we could mention, owning this won't trigger a sound file narrating secret diary entries. Why? Because we RESPECT THE PRIVACY of our characters. What are they hiding? Truly we live in MYSTERIOUS TIMES."MYSTERIOUS! Ahem.

I'm betting by this weekend we'll know the details of the "Mann vs Machine" mode, and that my Steam Wallet is about to take another pounding.

Adult Swim is running a promotion on their site teasing a collaboration with the developer Valve for something that is Team Fortress 2-related. And If you remember, Valve released video profiles for every class on Team Fortress 2 except for the Pyro class. If you click over to the newsletter sign up page on their site, the Pyro is prominently featured, making it seem like the announcement next week may be an extended version of a Meet The Pyro installment.

Well what could this new items such as GoldFish means ? or maybe GoldFish are meant for crafting some gold items with it? if so then maybe some players would rather to keep GoldFish items in their pocket, so the can sell the GoldFish later or just craft the GoldFish with other Items to craft new items with GoldFish item, who knows, we have to wait for news on GoldFish description the next Team Fortress 2 announcement.

Pocket Lint Mystery Has Something To Do With PYRO ??

Because Valve likes teasing upcoming announcements with weird promotions, a few strange items have started to show in Team Fortress 2 as of late, including items like bananas and pocket lint. Possible tie-in? Just a one-time Adult Swim-related video, or this is a sign of an actual series?

These items may be a Valve's some „treasure trail" like contest or something. It may involve rewards like promotional hats. This also may be a Valve's or Team Fortress 2's mystery, because in these new items's descriptions there are phrases like „Better get your tickets ready, because the mystery train is leaving the station. Or did it already leave? Another mystery!", or „Does it strike you as mysterious that goldfish are neither MADE OF GOLD or EVEN FISH?"

We found out that while wearing Eliminating The Impossible set for medic, these mysterious items change their descriptions, and when all these items are combined in a craft, it says:"Think of the deeds of hellish cruelty, the hidden wickedness which may go on, year in, year out, in such places, and none the wiser.". So, this is really could be a Valve's Summer Mystery Contest, or something like that. we are not sure yet. Midsummer Fire Festival Guide

The Midsummer Fire Festival will run from Thursday, June 21 to Wednesday, July 4 this year. While there are actually not a lot of achievements associated with the Midsummer Fire Festival -- the meta awards the Flame Warden title to Alliance players and the Flame Keeper title to Horde players but there are only six achievements. Serious travel time is needed for three of them , and one also requires a set of dangerous trips to enemy capitals.

Whats New in Midsummer Fire Festival 2012

There are now achievements for Cataclysm and Northrend. In addition, a new hat is now available.

New in Cataclysm

Midsummer Fire Festival Neutral bonfires are located in the Cataclysm zones with the Earthen Ring that will give 15 Burning Blossoms. Ahune has ilvl 353 items. No other changes, other than the bonfires being slightly moved around.

Midsummer Fire Festival Overview

Ribbon Poles provide a 10% experience boost when dancing with them that can last up to a full hour in addition to zone wide buffs that allow you to deal additional fire damage.
Lord Ahune resides in the Slave Pens and offers ilvl 232 cloaks, a staff, and a new companion pet in addition to 2 Frost emblems daily.
Daily Quests provide additional gold and Burning Blossoms and are located in your capital cities for some quick and easy cash.
Bonfires are located through Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, Outland, and Northrend. You can honor your faction's flames or extinguish the opposing faction's flames for money and Burning Blossoms.
Burning Blossoms can be turned into vendors for holiday related loot or be used to ignore bonfires and provide your faction a zone wide bonus.

Achievement Walkthrough

The Flame Keeper (Horde) / The Flame Warden (Alliance) The meta-achievement that requires all of the Midsummer Fire Festival achievements to be completed.
Burning Hot Pole Dance You will need 400 Burning Blossoms to buy all three pieces of the Summer Outfit (Vestment/Sandals of Summer and Mantle of the Fire Festival). Then spin on a ribbon pole.
Desecration of the Alliance / Desecration of the Horde You will need to complete all three extinguishing achievements in order to gain this one.
Extinguishing Kalimdor Extinguish all of the opposing faction's flames in Kalimdor.
Extinguishing Eastern Kingdoms Extinguish all of the opposing faction's flames in the Eastern Kingdoms.
Extinguishing Outland Extinguish all of the opposing faction's flames in Outland.
The Fires of Azeroth You will need to complete all three Flame Keeper achievements in order to get this one.
Flame Keeper of Kalimdor Honor all of your faction's flames in Kalimdor.
Flame Keeper of Eastern Kingdoms Honor all of your faction's flames in Eastern Kingdoms.
Flame Keeper of Outland Honor all of your faction's flames in Outland.
King of the Fire Festival You must complete 'A Thief's Reward' which requires you to steal the flames from the opposing faction's capital cities.
Ice the Frost Lord Defeat Lord Ahune.
Torch Juggler Take 10 Juggling Torches and use them within 15 seconds on the ground below your character. That will make you juggle over 40 torches within 15 seconds. This has to be done in Dalaran.

Ribbon Poles Buffs

The ribbon pole is one of the 'Burning Hot Pole Dance' achievement that gives the Ribbon Dance buff which increases experience gained by 10% for 3 minutes. Every 3 seconds on the pole increases the buff up until a one hour duration. Bonfire's Blessing gives you a 30% chance to inflict 10 Fire damage per level (800 at level 80) on any attack.

Bonfires

Bonfires are located throughout the world in World of Warcraft during the Midsummer Fire Festival. Allied bonfires ( located near your faction's town) can be honored while enemy bonfires can be put out, both for a reward. Visiting every bonfire in Azeroth and Outland can make you gain a massive amount of gold in addition to counting towards the meta-achievement for the Midsummer Fire Festival. Capital City Bonfires There are four "quests," one for each opposing capital city. Once you loot a flame it will offer you a quest to return the flame back to your capital city. You simply have to go to each capital city's bonfire and "loot" it. It has a 1 second cast time so you should be able to do it by either stealthing in and doing it really quickly or dying by the bonfire, resurrecting, and using the few seconds before anyone can target you to loot the flame.

Horde

Orgimmar: Located in the Valley of Wisdom near Mannoroth's armor.
Undercity: In the courtyard.
Silvermoon City: All the way in the back, located in the Court of the Sun.
Thunder Bluff. On the Spirit Rise.

Alliance

Stormwind: North of the Mage Quarter.
Ironforge: Hall of Explorers, be careful going up the hill.
The Exodar: Inside The Crystal Hall.
Darnassus: Inside of Rut'theran Village, you don't even have to go inside.

World Bonfires Simply use the achievement tracker to get a list of cities and travel city to city. Each bonfire is located somewhere near the city and you should be able to visit most without even pulling any guards.

Capital City Quests

The Spinner of Summer Tales Breadcrumb quest to take you to a Festival Talespinner/Loremaster who starts 'Incense for the Festival Scorchlings.' Is an optional quest.
Incense for the Festival Scorchlings (1 Burning Blossoms) Turn this quest in outside of a city to a Scorchling. Only awards 1 Burning Blossom.
[Daily] Torch Tossing (5 Burning Blossoms) You will need to use a Torch and throw it into one of the marked braziers. You must hit 8 targets within the allotted time.
[Daily] Torch Catching (5 Burning Blossoms) You need to light your torch at the bonfire then throw it up in the air and catch it. You must catch it four times in a row. You can see where it's going to land by looking at the shadow on the ground.

Twilight Hammer Chain

Unusual Activity Accept this quest from any Earthern Ring Elder who will give you a Totemic Beacon. Go to the Zoram Strand in Ashenvale and kill the Twilight Hammer located there. Loot a Twilight Correspondence to complete the quest. Use your beacon in order to summon a guide who will accept the quest and give you a new one.
An Innocent Disguise Use the orb and go to 9,12 in Ashenvale and wait for the quest to complete.
Inform the Elder Return to a capital city and turn the quest in.

From there you will be given a daily quest that will award 10 Burning Blossoms each. The daily quest most players will do is:

Striking Back (67+) Go to 84,47 in Hellfire Peninsula, use the stone, and then kill the Glacial Templar that spawns.

It won't take a long time to download, but you can expect to spend a significant amount of time poring over the very long list of tweaks, updates, and fixes of Diablo 3 v1.0.3

Patch 1.0.3 is going live and Blizzard has just posted the official patch notes. Here is Some quick key points follow but you should check out the full list, there are a more changes this time around.

* Attack Speed bonus on weapons and armors have been reduced by 50%

* High-end items now can drop in earlier acts (see notes for numbers)

* Some key class changes (check them out)

* Repair costs increases for items level 53-63

* Magic Find will no longer be considered when looting objects in the environment such as chests, barrels, vases, pots, and corpses

* Unique monsters in Hell and Inferno difficulty are no longer guaranteed to drop two Magic items when slain.

* Weapon racks will no longer drop weapons 100% of the time.

* Destructible objects no longer have a chance to drop items, and will only have a small chance to drop gold when destroyed.

* Blacksmith crafting has been reduced by 50% to 75% (for level 1-59) and cost to level by 50% with many other changes.

* Various boss changes can be found at the end, such as new enrage timers.

* Elite packs (Champion/Rare) now drop an additional item for players with 5 stacks of Nephalem Valor, which is guaranteed to be of Rare quality.

With the new patch (notes from earlier) you can expect some inevitable issues, some of those issues have been acknowledged by Blizzard. There are no doubt there are more issues and unconfirmed changes to that game than are reported here and if you find any feel free to add them to the comments and we’ will update this post.

In Diablo 3 v1.0.3 Zombie Bears appear not to be acting as expected and are not working on stairways or narrow pathways. Blizzard confirmed the problems:

* Damage from monsters in Acts II, III, and IV in Inferno difficulty has been reduced

* Fixed a position desync bug ,aka "rubberbanding", that could happen when some movement skills (Strafe, Whirlwind, Tempest Rush) ended because the player ran out of the appropriate resource.

Unfortunately this issues won’t be fixed until patch 1.0.4 which still has no release date.

The attack speed on Ashera’s Lock does not apply on existing items but it will effect on new spawns. The fix will be applied for existing items in patch 1.0.4.

There are reports of not gaining experience and health globes is being invisible in Diablo 3 v1.0.3. The suggested workaround is to just simply reset your password, and that solution seems to have worked for a some people.
